Shinji Shimada Solo Exhibition : Imitate Well, Play Well

In Japanese, “Manebu (imitate)” and “Menabu (learn)” have same origin.
It was synonymous once in Japan to imitate and to learn.
It is common with Japanese culture having developed by imitating it.
And, in deference to the other culture, the culture that ancient people built, it is an outcome to say to succeed positively.

It means division of the culture to imitate nothing,
As a result, I become the dull world only of individualism in statelessness.

In order to change a left point into the line,
From “Rimpa” to pop art work, I keep playing in imitation of various things.
